Compare audience fit, installation requirements, operating workload, serviceability and total cost before procurement.

Selecting wellness equipment for a hotel is a design and operating decision as well as a purchase. Begin with the experience the property can actually deliver: guest arrival, booking capacity, staff involvement, cleaning, rest and maintenance. A device with an appealing feature list may still be unsuitable for the building or operating team.
5 Elements helps clients select and procure equipment for their spaces. Before comparing brands or ordering, define how each item fits the service. Ask the consultant and supplier to distinguish product specifications, operating requirements and claims that need independent substantiation.
| Decision | Evidence to request | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Audience and use | Proposed guest journey and realistic usage pattern | Prevents buying for an imagined audience |
| Capacity | Intended simultaneous use and reset assumptions | Equipment capacity is not booking revenue |
| Site requirements | Power, water, ventilation, access and installation documents | Avoids expensive redesign after purchase |
| Routine operation | Staff tasks, cleaning and guest instructions | Affects daily workload |
| Serviceability | Maintenance plan, spares, response arrangements and warranty terms | Reduces uncertainty during downtime |
| Total cost | Equipment, installation, delivery and operating assumptions | Allows like-for-like comparison |
An equipment specification can describe measurable operating features. It should not automatically be presented as evidence that a guest will sleep better, recover faster or achieve a medical outcome. If the concept includes clinical assessment or treatment, use appropriately qualified practitioners and a separately defined clinical scope.
For thermal or water-based equipment, review the chosen model instructions and the facility operating requirements. Use manufacturer guidance and qualified technical input rather than a general internet protocol copied onto a staff card.
Create two candidate configurations that deliver the same basic guest experience. List the differences in capacity, required building works, servicing and staff time. If one option costs more, identify the operating problem it solves. A cheaper unit may create extra maintenance or installation work; a more expensive one may provide no benefit for the intended audience.
Do not commit to an exact model before confirming the site interfaces and service plan. Record assumptions that still need verification, and make them explicit in the proposal.
Equipment selection and sourcing can be paired with space design and staff preparation. Costs are discussed by the company on request.
